Satellite imagery is a valuable tool in geological mapping and exploration, giving rapid access to regional imagery over a tenement. In recent years, new higher resolution and multispectral scanners have become available, including ALOS, GeoEye, Ikonos, Quickbird, ASTER and ETM+, which have expanded our range of tools for mineral exploration. This makes it easier to map terrain elevation, regolith, geology, structure and to plan regional mapping or soil/stream sampling campaigns. Some of the data available for free and can provide very useful input for your exploration program.
A successful exploration program is centred on utilising the most effective methods and assessments that will help you make the most of your mineral targets. Under our expert guidance and with our state-of-the-art targeting, assessment and development tools, we can minimise your risks, cut costs and reduce time frames.
Our independent assessments and advice are provided by our skilled consultants with extensive knowledge of the processes of ore body formation and distribution within a wide range of geological and tectonic settings. Our exploration services involve the integration of complex data sets which are used to generate and refine targets, identify controls on ore bodies, and delineate prospective structures and sequences. The resource value is maximised through the application of leading geological modelling and resource estimation techniques, as well as complying with JORC and CIM reporting requirements.
We effectively map open-pit and underground mines to improve grade control, ore reserve modelling, mine plans and near mine drill targeting.
We also offer practical courses and workshops for geologists in mineral exploration, resource estimation and mining. Each course can be tailored to your specific needs, with the client selecting the most appropriate modules for their staff, geological environment and exploration objectives.
